Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Eko is operated by the team behind Buska (buska.io), a social intelligence company based in France. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

For anything privacy related, write to us at hello@hireeko.com. A human answers, usually within two business days.

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum Eko needs to do her job in your workspace:

• Workspace identifiers: your Slack or Discord workspace ID and name, so Eko knows where she is employed.
• Channel identifiers of the channels Eko has been invited to, so briefs land in the right place.
• The commands and questions you send her: slash commands, Ask Eko questions and the feedback you give on signals.
• Your brand profile from onboarding: company name, website, keywords, competitors and the tone you want her to use.
• Your Buska API key, if you connect an existing Buska account. It is stored encrypted and used only to call Buska on your behalf.
• Usage and credits data: how many signals, drafts and answers Eko has produced, so we can meter your credit balance.

That is the whole list. If a future feature needs more, this policy will say so before the feature ships.

3. What we never collect

Eko does not read your private Slack or Discord messages. She has no message history permissions of any kind: she only sees the commands and questions addressed directly to her, and she only posts in channels she has been explicitly invited to. DMs between teammates, private channels she is not in, and your message archive stay invisible to her.

Her listening happens entirely outside your workspace. Everything she reports comes from public conversations on the web, gathered by Buska's social intelligence engine. Your workspace is where she delivers, never where she collects.

4. AI processing

To turn public mentions into briefs, signals and drafts, Eko sends the relevant public content together with your brand profile to large language model providers for analysis.

These providers process the data to generate the response and nothing more. Your data is not used to train their models, and we never build shared models across customers from your workspace data. Feedback you give Eko tunes the filters of your workspace only.

5. Who we share data with

We share data with exactly four categories of recipients, each for one narrow purpose:

• Buska: when you press Send to Buska, the signal, its source URL and Eko's context are transmitted to your Buska account. This handoff is always triggered by a human, never automatically.
• Hosting providers: Eko runs on servers located in the European Union.
• AI providers: as described in the previous section, for analysis only.
• Stripe: when paid billing launches, payments will be processed by Stripe. We will never see or store your card number.

6. Cookies

The Eko website uses exactly two cookies: NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers your language preference (English or French), and a session cookie that keeps you signed in to your workspace console. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no third party analytics cookies.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep your workspace data for as long as Eko is installed. When you uninstall her, her access is revoked immediately.

To erase everything, write to hello@hireeko.com after uninstalling: we delete your brand profile, signals, usage history and any stored API key within 30 days, and confirm it in writing.

8. Your rights under GDPR

We operate from France, so the GDPR applies to everything we do. You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it rectified, to have it erased, to receive it in a portable format, and to restrict or object to certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@hireeko.com. If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.

9. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data or your workspace data to anyone, for any purpose. Eko's business model is credits, not your data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Eko grows, for example when Microsoft Teams support ships. Updates are posted on this page with the date at the top, and material changes are announced in-product before they take effect.
