Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Eko, the AI social listening employee. By installing her in your workspace you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, write to hello@hireeko.com.
1. The service
Eko is an AI social listening employee operated by the team behind Buska (buska.io). You hire her into your Slack or Discord workspace (Microsoft Teams support is coming), she monitors public conversations across the web through Buska's social intelligence engine, and she delivers briefs, signals, draft replies and answers directly in chat.
Eko is a workplace tool for teams. By installing her you confirm you are acting on behalf of a business or organization, not as a consumer.
2. Credits: you pay for findings
Eko runs on a credits model. You pay for what she finds and produces, not for seats and not for scanning time:
- 2,500 free credits when you install her, no card required.
- 25 credits per signal she surfaces.
- 25 credits per reply she drafts.
- 10 credits per question she answers.
- 500 credits, once, for learning your brand during onboarding.
When you need more, paid credit volumes are available on a monthly basis. Current volumes and prices are listed on the pricing page.
3. The guarantee: Eko drafts, humans send
Eko never posts publicly on your behalf. She has no code path that publishes to social platforms: she drafts, a human on your team reviews, edits and sends. This is not a setting you could misconfigure; the capability does not exist, and we treat it as a binding commitment under these terms.
Anything published from a draft Eko wrote is published by you, under your accounts, and is your responsibility.
4. Acceptable use
Eko monitors topics, brands and markets, not people. You agree to the following:
- Do not use Eko to harass, stalk, intimidate or dogpile anyone. Monitoring public conversations in order to target the people having them is grounds for immediate termination.
- Do not use Eko for unlawful surveillance or profiling of individuals.
- Respect the terms of service of the platforms Eko reports from, and of the platforms she works in (Slack, Discord).
- Do not resell Eko's output, scrape the service, or systematically extract her briefs to build a competing product.
- Do not attempt to make Eko bypass the guarantees described in section 3.
5. Accounts
The workspace is the account. There are no individual seats: everyone in the channels Eko has joined can work with her, and the workspace shares one credit balance.
Whoever installs Eko confirms they have authority to bind the workspace to these terms. Workspace admins can manage her channels and brand profile, connect a Buska account, and offboard her. You are responsible for how members of your workspace use her.
6. Billing
The free credits you receive at install never expire. Paid credit volumes renew monthly until you cancel, and there is no per-seat pricing: one balance covers the whole workspace.
Payments will be processed by Stripe when paid billing launches. We may change prices for future periods with at least 30 days notice; credits already purchased are always honored at the terms under which you bought them. Except where the law requires otherwise, purchased credits are non-refundable.
7. No refunds
Credit purchases are final and non-refundable. Once a paid cycle has started or purchased credits have begun to be consumed, no full or partial refund is issued: credits meter work Eko has already performed (reading, filtering, analyzing and briefing), which cannot be undone.
This is exactly why every new workspace receives 2,500 free credits with no card required: try Eko fully, on your own brand, before paying anything. If the service is not for you, cancel before your next cycle; unused paid time is not refunded, and your plan simply does not renew.
Nothing in this section affects rights that mandatory applicable law grants you and that cannot be waived.
8. Availability
Eko is in beta and provided on a best-effort basis. We work to keep her fast and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and her output depends on upstream sources we do not control: the public platforms she listens to, Buska's engine and the AI providers she uses.
We may modify features of the service as it evolves. If a change materially reduces what your credits can do, we will say so before it takes effect.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eko is provided as is. Our total aggregate liability under these terms is capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or 100 euros if you have paid nothing.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or business decisions you make based on Eko's briefs, signals or drafts. She is an assistant, not an oracle: verify before you act. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under French law, such as liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
10. Termination
You can offboard Eko at any time by uninstalling her from your workspace. Uninstalling stops all monitoring and billing for future periods; already purchased credits for the current period are not refunded except where the law requires it.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, in particular the acceptable use rules in section 4. Where reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the breach. After termination, data deletion works as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes are announced in-product or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Eko after that date, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, offboard her before the change takes effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Before going to court, both sides agree to try to resolve any dispute amicably by contacting hello@hireeko.com. Failing that, disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Paris, France, subject to any mandatory rules that designate another forum.
